In 2020, Fernando Alvarez was appointed Chief Strategy and Development Officer, in charge of Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Partners and Ecosystems for the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Group. Since then, he has also been a member of the Group Executive Board.

From 2016 through to 2019, Fernando was ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Group’s Chief of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships (GSIP). From 2014 to 2016, Fernando was ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½â€™s Chief Digital Officer and prior to this he was in charge of ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½â€™s Mobile Solutions global practices.

Before joining ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½, Fernando was Founder, CEO and Chairman of Abaco Mobile, Inc., an Atlanta-based software company that provided enterprise mobile software solutions for more than 21 years. In 2010, Abaco and ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ began a transaction in which key Abaco assets were acquired by ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½.

In 2000, Fernando was rewarded as one of the 100 most influential US Hispanic business leaders by Hispanic Business magazine. He is also a former beneficiary of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. During his tenure at Abaco, his efforts positioned it as one of the few US Hispanic technology companies that achieved global success.

Fernando has a background in business, economics, and law. He is frequently invited to be a speaker at industry events around the world.
