Making the energy transition – investing in the future and managing the now

The transition to a new world of clean, affordable and abundant energy is the defining challenge of our times. The prize is a new era of industrial growth, prosperity, security and opportunity – and a planet with more sustainable resources to support a growing population.

It’s a challenge with a myriad dimensions. We must empower citizens to participate, not just as consumers of EVs, but as clean energy producers and storers too e.g low carbon hydrogen.  Equally fierce competition, supply chain challenges the sustainability push mean the oil and gas companies need to be agile.

And while we invest in the clean technologies that will become the norm, the net zero imperative means we must also skilfully navigate the now, adopting more sustainable, transitional fuels like gas and LNG, and decarbonizing these fuels using Carbon Capture and Storage.

ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ supports organizations across the new energy landscape, with strategically considered, integrated, end-to-end approaches for every stage of the transformation journey.

Moving to an integrated energy world – the size of the challenge

By 2050:

18%
Of energy demand will by met by low carbon hydrogen
90%
Of the increase in storage will be led by batteries
700
Million EVs will be on the road

What we do

Globally, we support a number of segments across the energy and utilities industry:

Energy and EV retail

With almost one in every five cars sold in 2023 fully electric, EVs are no longer a niche market.

Energy businesses are embracing digital thinking and game changing technologies to ensure a cleaner, more sustainable and resilient future for our planet.

The way forward

The race is on to stay ahead of increasing public and commercial demand for low carbon mobility.

The low-carbon hydrogen1 sector has experienced a period of wide-spread enthusiasm since 2021.

For energy providers in particular, the ability to efficiently capture carbon without creating still greater emissions is an important part of the emissions reduction jigsaw.

Wind and solar installations are already playing a huge role in the achievement of our net zero targets – our challenge is to accelerate the delivery of the asset, grid and storage infrastructure that we need at the scale and pace required.
